Mountains of the Moon University has received its third scholarship beneficiary from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, a partner institution under the MAINSTREAM Project, as part of the second cohort of selected scholars.

Atieno Beatrice becomes the first female student to join Mountains of the Moon University under this program in 2026. She arrived in Kampala on 16 April 2026, accompanied by her baby, and later proceeded to Fort Portal on 17 April 2026.

Her research will focus on stakeholders’ perspectives regarding the drivers and barriers influencing the adoption of insect-based feeds within the poultry value chain in Kenya and selected regions of Uganda. This study is expected to contribute valuable insights into sustainable and innovative feeding practices in the poultry sector across the region.
